One of summer’s greatest challenges is beating the heat. Don’t let those high temperatures and blaring sun get you down. Keep as cool as a cucumber this summer with these fun and fairly reasonable options all within or very close to Weber County.

Splash Pads

Riverdale Splash Pad

Bring the whole family to enjoy a variety of water activities and features at the Riverdale Splash Pad. The park and splash pad are located at 4300 South Parker Drive just east of the Riverdale Fire Department. This splash pad season runs from Memorial Day to Labor Day. The splash pad is open Monday through Sunday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. with the exception of Wednesday mornings when the splash pad opens at noon. The delayed opening is due to routine maintenance.

South Ogden Nature Park & Splash Pad

Cool off with the family at the South Ogden Nature Park with two playgrounds and a splash pad. This tucked away gem is located at 5874 S. Park Vista Drive right behind the Ogden Athletic Club. This park is open year round, however, the splash pad is open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Memorial Day through Labor Day. There also is a pavilion that community member can rent. Residents get a discount!

Harrisville Park & Splash Pad

Community members say that the Harrisville Park is a “Great place to take the kids to play ball or on the playground, lots of room and a frisbee golf course and splash park.” The park is located just off of Highway 89 at 1350 N. Hwy 89. This splash pad is also open from Memorial Day to Labor Day and operates Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Aquatic Centers & Swimming Pools

North Shore Aquatic Center

Cool off with family and friends in North Ogden at the North Shore Aquatic Center. This fun-in-the-sun water park will be a splash with their lap pool, diving boards and playground. They are open varying hours Monday through Saturday. Although, they are closed Sundays they are open on holidays from noon to 6:30 p.m.

Roy Aquatic Center

Cooling down while living a little further south in Weber County is no problem with the Roy Aquatic Center. This outdoor facility offers plenty of fun with two pools, large waterslides, diving boards, a big playground and splash pad for littler ones to enjoy. They are open every day from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Marshall White Center

Located in the heart of Weber County, the Marshall White Center gives community members a break from the sun. This indoor facility not only offers open swimming Monday through Saturday, they also have water aerobics classes, swimming lessons, kayak polo and youth kayak. Reservoirs

Pineview

Just seven miles east of Ogden, Pineview Reservoir offers outstanding opportunities for fishing, swimming and water sports. The Pineview Dam was originally constructed to provide reliable irrigation to the 25,000 acres located between the Wasatch Mountains and the Great Salt Lake. With its beautiful water, sandy beaches and picnic areas, Pineview is a great place to bring the family for a fun filled day.

Causey

This free alternative to Pineview Reservoir is located just 15 miles northeast of Ogden. Perfect for swimming, water sports and even cliff jumping, Causey has something that everyone can do to cool down.

Tubing

The Weber River

Get out of the heat and have some fun with the Henefer-Taggart Weber River tubing adventure. This route takes a little more than two hours to complete. Keep in mind that life jackets are required by law to be worn on all Utah rivers.
